So many of us go to trendy restaurants and order Nachos Supreme, but we never think of making them at home. That's about to change! Now that you know how to prepare restaurant-style nachos, you're gonna put them on your home dinner menu. This easy nacho recipe includes layers upon layers of tasy Mexican ingridients you love. Plus, it is super easy to add variety to this recipe by adding and removing ingredients. Too spicy? Skip the jalepenos! Need some protein? Fry up some ground beef and sprinkle it on too.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (8-ounce) package tortilla chips
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 (1-1/4-ounce) envelope taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 scallions (green onions), thinly sliced
  • 1 medium-sized tomato, chopped
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, thinly sliced (optional)

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place tortilla chips in a 9- x 13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine refried beans and taco seasoning mix over medium heat, stirring constantly until heated through; spoon over tortilla chips.
  3. Sprinkle cheese over bean mixture and bake 3 to 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Dollop with guacamole and sour cream then sprinkle with scallions, tomato, and sliced jalapenos, if desired. Serve immediately.

I added a can of chili with beans to the refried beans mixture. Topped with tomatoes, scallions, sliced black olives, shredded lettuce, sour cream and salsa.

I made these using fat free refried beans and beef, as well as some chopped lettuce on top, and they were delicious! Just saute some diced onions with a bit of spices like parsley, black pepper, and a bit of garlic powder (and of course butter and salt), add your ground beef and brown it, then add the taco seasoning mix and your refried beans. VERY good that way!

These are wonderful. Will make them ofen...

I usually add a can of Hormel Chili with beans. MMM MMM Good!!!!!!!!!

Made this with/without beef on the same table. Beef won, hands down!!!

YES, I AGREE, THIS HAS TO HAVE BEEF!!!

Why does everyone think you always need meat? This already has plenty of fat, If you don't want plain, just add spices. Use your imagination. It's fun to try new things!

bug off

We want meat because we LIKE meat. It tastes good!

I'd leave out the beans, too much exhaust. I LIKE meat. Most people do. If you don't don't eat it and DON'T judge me.

Meat provides your Protein, which is needed for a complete, healthy meal: Yes the beans provide some, but not much.. If well drained, It will not add much fat. If fat is your problem omit or limit the sour cream. How do you make the gualamole? TY

you didnt say mix taco seasoning as directions no ground meat? sounds plain.

What? No meat? "Where's the Beef"? Personally, I would fix some Taco flavored mixture with ground chuck, & re-fried beans together, instead of "just the beans"! Then finish the dish as instructed above. Yum, Yum! -JOHN-
