Our Loaded Chocolate Chip Cake recipe is chock-full of chocolate goodness! By using prepackaged cake mix and instant vanilla pudding, you won't be sacrificing flavor or time when you bake up this sweet treat.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (18-1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (6-serving-size) package instant vanilla pudding and pie filling
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a Bundt pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, mix cake mix and pudding mix. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add oil and sour cream, beating until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

I make this twice a month. However, I can't seem to keep the chocolate chips evenly distrubuted in the cake. They all drop to the bottom, even the mini-chips. Any suggestions?

Hi there! We definitely agree to try tossing them in flour before folding them into the batter, but also, make sure that as soon as you pour it in the pan you are ready to put it in the oven, so it starts baking right away. Also, make sure you're using the mini chocolate chips as opposed to the regular sized ones.

I tried flouring with the regular sized chips and they still sank- I'm going to try flouring the mini chips, stir them in, and get the cake right in the oven for the next go around- do you use the same measurement for mini as you do regular chips?
