If you've got a weakness for snack foods like potato chips and pretzels, then you're going to love our Potato Chip Fudge. This creamy and rich fudge tastes like those expensive, chocolate-dipped pretzels and chips you see in the fancy candy stores.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups coarsely crumbled potato chips (See Note)

What to Do

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn. When chocolate is melted, reduce heat to low and add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla; stir until well blended.

  2. Remove from heat and immediately add crumbled potato chips. Stir gently to blend and pour into an 8-inch square baking dish that has been coated with cooking spray. Cover and cool in the refrigerator until set.

I did not really like this at all. I was looking for a sweet and salty kick that this just did not have. It seemed like the chocolate just drowned out the saltiness of the chips. I thought it would be more like chocolate dipped potato chips. It was a little bit but not quite the same. I also thought the chips texture was a bit chewy after awhile. My Mom loved though so maybe my expectations were to high.

This was easy and delish! I just loved it - it made a lot so be prepared to share!

In Hawaii, at a famous chocolate factory, they make it using Fritos. Oooh.....It is so good!

These were ok right after making but the potato chips were chewy in a few hours, would much rather have nuts or something that will not get soggy and chewy.

As a diabetic I try to find ways to make my favorite recipes easier to fit into my carb/calorie budget. I found sugarfree semisweet chocolate chips. I am going to try this recipe and of course I will factor the carbs, calories and fat into my dietary budget. I found the comments by people that think a diabetic shouldn't even be looking at this recipe personally offensive. I am a non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetic and I try to "healthify" sweets as much as possible and indulge in moderation. I don't think saying I shouldn't even be looking at this recipe was a kind or helpful comment.

Well Said .... Type 2 Diabetics can have anything in moderation. We just have to be attentive to the carbs, fat, and/or calories in any dish.

ALOT of Diabetics are on WW.. and even though they cannot have large portions of this delicious fudge, it IS important the nutritional value to count points or the grams of sugar, carbs, fat etc are consumed, the same as the over weight person that is trying to loose weight and avoid becoming diabetic.. Just because you are diabetic does not mean you cannot Ever have another sweet to eat, it just has to be done in moderation, as any other diet is done.

tsbarkery2529267, the point value is 2 per 1"square.

I am going to substitute fritos corn chips for the potato chips and see how that tastes. then I am going to try bacon!

LOVE both ideas--hope you don't mind if I "steal" them--and THANKS!!!

ish.....

I agree with gg I'm on Weight Watchers and I need to know how many points I'm eating.

ts, your name is my email and I'm on WW too! How weird is that!

Why are our #'s the same???

the recipe is good but why in your recipes you never give the nutrition info.? Being a diabetic it would be nice to have that info. Thank You

Being a diabetic, you shouldn't even be looking at this recipe!

GOOD COMEBACK, iluveggs!

FYI-VERY often diabetic "suger-free" candy is more detrimental than a regular old candy bar. Far more carbs. So, yes, nutritional facts are great. On the other hand, if you are diabetic.....common sense tells you that just a simple taste is all you can handle of this one!
