Barbecue Chip Chicken

We've got two questions for you. Are you tired of dry baked chicken? And who doesn't love reaching into a bag of potato chips? Well, we've got a recipe that's the best of both worlds. Make our Barbecure Chip Chicken! Barbecue chips add an irresistible crunch and tangy flavor to juicy baked chicken breasts. Try this new chicken for dinner, tonight - it won't disappoint!

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup ranch salad dressing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (6-ounce) bag barbecue-flavored potato chips, crushed
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (1 to 1-1/2 pounds)

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine dressing, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper; mix well. Place crushed potato chips in another shallow dish. Dip chicken into dressing mixture then into crushed potato chips, coating completely; place on baking sheet.
  3. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.

  • To make it easier to dip our Barbecue Chip Chicken in our favorite dipping sauces, we cut the chicken into long strips and turn them into chicken fingers. (By the way, we think this recipe pairs great with our homemade ranch dressing.)

We tried this and liked it. I have made it a couple of times. My husband who doesn't even like chicken likes this.

it was very good

i have have never tried it w bbq chips Rachel Ray has a simliar recipe using sour cream and onion. i can't wait to try this recipe!!

Question: can you use chicken wings/drummettes instead of chicken strips and if so how long do you cook in oven? My husband loves chicken wings (as well as the kids) and sounds like a perfect item to snack on when were outside playing. Love this site, have used many recipes from here

Tried it twice. We had to because we couldn't believe how good it was the first time. The combination of all the flavors work together and none overpowers the other. I do not care for white meat but I have no problem saying that, "oooh, it was so good!" Thanks Mr. Food!

We tried it and it was good and juicy. We substituted ranch dressing with creamy italian.

My husband just made this for dinner. It was truly a hit in our home tonight. It was full of flavor, but different than most chicken dishes. We will defintely try this again.

I'm thinking the ranch dressing would taste better with a dash of curry powder. How much is up to you.

On the table for dinner tonight---had to go buy chips!!! mmmm sounds so good

Ben's Chili Dog

Ben's Chili Bowl has been a landmark restaurant in Washington D.C. since 1958. The restaurant first became famous for its homemade chili dogs. After getting tasting one, we knew we had to recreate this chili in our Test Kitchen.
