- COOK TIME
- 20 Min
Your In-Law's Favorite Chicken is a sure-fire way to impress even the toughest of in-laws. This fancy dish features a deliciously creamy sauce that everyone will love. Don't blame us if your in-laws ask for a second dinner invitation!
What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, divided
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons thinly sliced sundried tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil
What to Do
- In a shallow dish, combine flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; mix well.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Dip chicken in flour mixture, coating completely, then place in skillet and saute 6 to 7 minutes per side, or until no longer pink in center. Remove chicken to a plate.
- Stir in white wine to deglaze pan. Add cream, sundried tomatoes, basil, and remaining salt and pepper, and cook 2 to 3 minutes, or until sauce begins to thicken. Serve sauce over chicken.

I would like to try this recipe but need to sub the heavy cream for something. I was thinking cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, yogurt or sour cream. What have you tried?

Best chicken recipe EVER!!! My family loves this recipe. We usually cook this about once a week. Sometimes if I run out of sun dried tomatoes, I just make the recipe as is but without those. This is SOOO yummy!

Great recipe! We like this and will make it again. Besides chicken breast, I have made this with boneless, skinless chicken thighs, and that is very good as well. I waited to rate this recipe until I made it as written. The first time I made it, the only change I made was that I used pork chops and it was worth it! Again, great recipe that's easy, quick and oh so good!

Made this with a few changes. Skipped the flour and salt. Sauteed the chicken in a little olive oil and butter. After deglazing the pan with wine, added half and half -not cold or it will curdle - a bit of chicken base, the sun dried tomatoes , basil and a half cup of Parmesan.

This sauce really elevates the chicken and asparagus as a veg side ensures it! There are several different kinds of sundried tomatoes available, so make sure you choose one you like. Some are soft in oil and others dried hard that need some simmering. Pepper really makes a cream sauce pop!

Since I have no in-laws and live alone, I made half the recipe and used chicken tenders instead of the breasts. Delicious!
