Memory Lane Milk Shake

Boy, oh boy, will this milkshake remind you of bobby socks and saddle shoes! You'll think you've gone back in time to a '50s soda fountain!

What You'll Need

  • 2 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries (about 2/3 of a 16-ounce package)
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 whole fresh strawberries, cleaned

What to Do

  1. Combine all of ingredients except fresh strawberries in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into tall glasses and top each with a fresh strawberry.

These are so thick that you'll need to serve them with straws and spoons!

My grandma used to make the best strawberry shakes. This one looks so easy to do!

My wife loves strawberry shakes. My question is that can you use all fresh strawberries instead of some frozen strawberries? Cannot wait to make this shake this weekend. Thanks again Mr. Food for everything.

the home made milk shakes i remember growing up with were make with milk, 1 raw egg & vanilla flavoring. Mumm Good

Add a little nutmeg and you have eggnog (non alcoholic).
