This 5-ingredient Microwave Apple Pie Crisp is super simple and ready to eat in just 15-minutes. But the coolest part is, it's cooked entirely in the microwave! You'll have an ooey-gooey, bubblin' dessert with such little effort, we bet you'll be making this one over-and-over again.

What You'll Need

  • 2 (21-ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened

What to Do

  1. Place pie filling in a microwavable 9-inch pie plate; set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients, mixing with a fork until crumbly.
  3. Sprinkle topping over pie filling, then microwave at 70% power for 7 minutes, or until bubbly.
  4. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

I didn't have apple pie filling I searched apple recipes and came across this So I cored peeled and sliced green apples I put them in a sauce pan with about a c lemon juice c orange juice c white sugar and covered shook in some good cinnamon sorry I don't usually measure everything brought it to a boil and let it simmer after that I'm not the best at following recipes exactly I usually use them as a guide The rest of the recipe I kept on track and had these ready for an after school snack total cook time right around an hour if that The kids ate it quick and my daughter asked for more but we had cleaned the dish in our decent sized servings so I saved my last bite for her This is how we gauge what's great and I will definitely make these againRead More My husband said it was better than he expected so I count that as an extra little win Thanks Mr Food Staff we LOVE you Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you - and we hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving too! :)

I would like to use "Real" fresh apples. Will this recipe work without using the "too sweet" canned variety?

This recipe may work with fresh apples, but we haven't tested it this way and aren't sure how long it would take to microwave. You would also need to add cinnamon and other ingredients to make up for the sweetness. If you do decide to give this a try, please let us know how it turns out!
