Refrigerated pie crust and frozen apples let you get this dessert ready for the oven in 10 minutes. Bake it while you eat dinner, and a nice warm dessert will be waiting.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 (15-ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 (12-ounce) package frozen spiced apples, thawed
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • Sugar for sprinkling
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar butterscotch topping, warmed

What to Do

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Unroll pie crust according to package directions. Cut into fourths. Place apples evenly in center of each fourth. Pull corners over apples, pinching to seal. Place on a baking sheet; brush evenly with egg white, and sprinkle with sugar.

  2. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until golden. Serve warm with butterscotch topping.

Thanks for your comment. Don't forget to share!

We preferred it with hot caramel instead of butterscotch, but to each their own!

These look delicious , will try. I love quick, simple and easy recipes that are good. Thanks for the good work and your recipes. keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely & easy. We didn't have frozen apples so we peeled a few and added sugar and cinnamon. Also, didn't have the topping....plain and simple... the hubby and I really enjoyed them. (A scoop of vanilla ice cream is always a nice added feature....)

Funny these people complaining about a recipe. If you don't like a program, change the channel or turn it off. Don't waste our time complaining about it.

Ladies & Gents; please don't put down one of my favorite sites! Mr. Foods Team doesn't say you have to make these kinds of recipes all the time; most are quick and easy, as some people do not always have the time to prepare things from scratch. If you prefer things from scratch, there are plenty of other sites to go to. We will miss you :<( Since Mr. Foods death (who we miss very much.) .......we are fortunate to still have this great recipe site. Please try recipes [before] putting them down, and be nice when you don't care for some of them. As the old saying goes: (If you can not say something nice, then better not to say anything at all). "Have a nice day." Sincerely, 'little ole' Ohio cook,' Sherry

Well said! I totally agree! I love this site.

too expensive cheaper to buy from a bakery. Mr. Food uses too many packaged and prepared foods not local or fresh

Ladies, Please, this site is for quick and EASY recipes. If you want to do things from scratch, that's wonderful, but don't complain about the recipes here for that reason. Some of us like these recipes because they are easy and we don't have the time or talent to do things from scratch. If you don't like the recipes don't use them.

Like okiebaker1, I do everything from scratch. Just like my gramma did. And I agree with alicewoodrome ... assembling is not cooking. Read the labels, folks, and you'll see you've got more chemicals than the periodic elements chart in any chem lab.

Again, so what? Why are we to care how you make them? If you don't like Mr. Food's recipe, don't use it!

Hooray!! Just what I was thinking.

I know that the first lady said it was processed. I make my own pie dough, (sugarless), slice my own apples, use substitutes for sugar, add some organic brown sugar and cinnamon. Also you can do your own caramel with a can of sweetened condensed milk. That is about as home made as you get.

So what? We don't care how you make them.

Packaged pie crust? Frozen apples? Jar topping? Really? Let's see more recipes that require actual cooking, not just assembling processed foods. Who needs all those chemicals, and the extra expense for packaged foods. Besides, no one ever really learns to cook this way.

Delicious and easy. I made them after dinner with my guests watching. So easy you can let your grandkids make it.

I would suggest Mrs. Richardsons butterscotch caramel sauce. Most grocery stores carry it by the ice cream topping. Its the best!

Mrs Richardsons butterscotch caramel is the best. Most grocery stores have it by the ice cream topping

how do make butterscotch topping

Not sure, but I know you can find it in the grocery store with the ice cream toppings -- right next to the chocolate sauce. ;-)

I remember eating these from the bakery growing up in Chicago. Thanks for reminding me how good they were (easy hand pies) and for the recipe.

Sounds really simple. I would choose ice cream over the butterscotch syrup. And fresh apples with cinnamon and sugar...and a little pat of butter. Sounds easy...can't wait to try it.

Why not use apple pie filling??

You can try using apple pie filling. We just want to give you a number of options. We have not tried it in the Test Kitchen, so we can't guarantee the results. Enjoy!

If you can't find the spiced apples, you could use plain and add apple pie spice to it. Just a thought..This recipe sounds YUMMY !!!

What long the baking time be about?

It's on the recipe....

I'd love to try this but not familiar with frozen spiced apples. I will use a sliced apple with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar and see how it goes!

please re-post. That sounds delicious.
