Our to-die-for easy homemade glaze that's brushed on to a bone-in smoked ham will make your holiday entertaining memorable. Our Test Kitchen's favorite recipe for Orange Bourbon Ham is so simple yet so elegant
What You'll Need:
- 1 (4- 5-pound) bone-in smoked ham half, fully cooked, unsliced
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup orange marmalade
- 1/3 cup bourbon or whiskey
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
What To Do:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- With a sharp knife, cut a diamond pattern into skin of ham and place in a large roasting pan. Place orange slices around ham.
- In a small pot, combine remaining ingredients; mix well and heat until warm. Pour half of bourbon glaze over ham and roast 30 minutes. Baste occasionally with remaining glaze and continue to cook additional 45 minutes, or until heated through. Let ham stand 10 minutes before slicing.

I made this marinade for our Christmas ham. It was delicious!! My daughter in law who does not like ham, stated it was good and even had a second helping. Now that IS a compliment! This recipe is a definite keeper.

I made this last night and my father-in-law said it was the best ham he has ever tasted. The flavor was amazing!! I had to triple everything because my ham was 13 pounds and basted it every hour. I also kept it covered with aluminum foil which kept it really moist. I took the foil off for the last 20 minutes and the outside turned out wonderful. This is a must keep receipt for ham!!!

I cover the ham for most of the cook time. Then I take the foil off for the 15-20 minutes. Gets the outside crispy.

My brother is a diabetic. Isn't it true, after cooking the bourbon or whiskey the alcohol is "burned", cooked away and it would be safe for him to eat??? I would love to make this, but, not if my brother can't enjoy it too. Please, let me know... Thanks :)
