It is that time of the year when all the fresh fruits are in the local markets. Around here we have the convenience of going out and picking our own on some local farms. Strawberries are the hot item now and this would be a nice accomplishment to a serving for a snack.

Around our house, fruit just does not stand a chance. I am glad that they will go for the fresh fruit first and a dip is not a necessity but sometimes I like to make the snack special. This will be a great addition to my ever growing recipe box.

In addition to pieces of fresh fruit, you could also serve this with some of those amaretti biscuit cookies or vanilla wafers! I might stir in some slivered almonds for a little added crunch, and top it with some too. When using nut derivatives like almond extract, it is always a good idea to "show" your guests what's in it, in case somebody may have an allergy or intolerance.
