Texas "TNT" Dip

Thanks to a viewer in Texas, we were able to bring Texas TNT Dip to tables across the globe. She promised us it would be dynamite and, oh boy, she sure was right!
What You'll Need
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 (10-3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- 2 pounds pasteurized processed cheese, cut into cubes (like Velveeta)
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
What to Do
- In a soup pot over medium heat, cook ground beef about 8 minutes, or until browned; drain liquid.
- Add remaining ingredients, reduce heat to low, and continue to cook until cheese is melted and mixture is warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Haven't tried this "Texas "TNT" Dip" - but it sure does sound good! I AM A BIG CHILI FAN! Am looking forward to trying this dip. However, IF I used a "mushroom" soup - I would use GOLDEN MUSHROOM soup! I have never, ever liked cream of mushroom soup! Try GOLDEN MUSHROOM soup the next time a recipe calls for cream of mushroom soup. ESPECIALLY good when making "old fashioned pot roast" with potatoes, carrots, onions AND a can of GOLDEN MUSHROOM soup! Substituting "sausage" ALSO sounds good - would probably use a "hot" sausage. Like others, I leave out the soup, chili powder and butter, and I use hot Rotel instead of salsa. I also add a whole brick of cream cheese, which gives it that extra OOMPH everyone loves! We've always called this Armadillo Dip, and it's a Number One favorite.

Been making this for YEARS with Rotel instead of salsa and no canned soup. It really isn't classified as "TNT" spicy to me if fixed this way; we always add either fresh or pickled chopped jalapenos to take it up a notch.

I have made this for over 40 years. Instead of soup, salsa, and chili powder, try Rotel, Spicy.

I use with Rotel also, but I also use Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage instead of ground beef. Both are delicious. Oh yeah, I don't even use butter and after I cook my meat I put in crock pot.

In lieu of Chili powder use. 2T In lieu of Chili powder use 2T of "Tastefully Simple"brand of Fiesta Seasoning..tum!
