Broccoli Mushroom Bake

No need to wait for company to turn out fancy-looking, taste-tempting side dishes. With our Broccoli Mushroom Bake, it's a snap to make the gang at home feel special...any day of the week.

What You'll Need

  • 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen broccoli spears, thawed and drained (see Note)
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (10 ¾-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup Italian-flavored bread crumbs

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
     
  2. Place broccoli spears in a single layer in prepared baking dish; sprinkle with pepper.
     
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the soup and milk, and pour evenly over the broccoli. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.
     
  4. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until warmed through and golden.
     

Note

This can also be made with fresh broccoli that you cut into spears and boil or steam until tender.

IF any of you are looking for simple steamed broccoli with no salt or fat you don't need any recipe ....Simply plop the broccoli in microwave with a tad of water cover and steam away till tender ! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GOOD! There are tons of websites with "Light Recipes" THis website is for cooks and familes who enjoy eating you can make any recipe " healther" if you choose the healthier you make it the less flavor it has.. Simple as that! Been cooking over 50 years

You tell 'em Grannyblu. I've said it more times than one. If you want 'healthy' recipes GO TO A DIABETIC COOKING SITE. If these recipes are not to your healthy taste just hush and let those of us who like them alone.

Yes I've also noticed that your recipes don't list nutritional info. For instance, I know this Broccoli Mushroom Bake is high in salt, judging from the mushroom soup, Italian bread crumbs, and parmesan. A serving of steamed broccoli would be much healthier!

So if that's what you want make a bowl of steamed broccoli.

You know this site does not give that info. All you nuturitional fanatics go to another website and leave us alone.

I would recommend buying software that will calculate it for you. Living Cookbook is one, Mastercook is another. I did one the other day for someone, but I can't do it for all. If you're that concerned about nutrition, then you need to take care of that part yourself. I don't mean to sound flippant, but really it is true.
