- SERVES
- 12
- COOK TIME
- 30 Min
Ooey gooey Caramel Pecan Poke Cake starts with a packaged cake mix, but still has that old fashioned “from-scratch” taste that everyone craves. It's sure to be a hit, whether you make it just-because, or you're whipping it up for a special occasion. And while they'll think you spent all day on it, you'll have a secret smile, knowing just how easy it was to make!
What You'll Need
- 1 (18.25-ounce) box chocolate cake mix, prepared according to package directions
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (14-ounce) can caramel topping
- 1 (16-ounce) container coconut pecan frosting
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Pour batter into baking dish.
- Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes, then poke holes in top of cake using a wooden spoon handle.
- In a medium bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping. Pour mixture slowly over cake while still warm.
- Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Spread frosting over cake, sprinkle with pecans, and serve.

I haven't made this yet, but by looking at the ingredients, I can tell my family will love it! I wish I were grocery shopping today so I could get the cake mix and have this for dessert tonight. I can imagine this will be wonderful with a hot cup of coffee. If this is as delicious as it looks, I will make it again for my mom's birthday.

This is really good, but I added a little almond extract to the cake mix to boost flavor. I can say this is good and I don't like chocolate cake . I used a fried turkey injector without the needle to fill each of the poke holes and then poured the rest of the sauce over the cake. Also heated the frosting in the microwave a bit to make the spreading easier. My grandkids are also crazy about this cake. a littl

Absolutely fantastic with a Butter Pecan cake mix also! And I topped it with a thin layer of cool whip and chopped pecans.
