Cookie Dough Bites

Cookie Dough Bites

If you've ever snuck a finger full of cookie dough out of the mixing bowl while no one was looking, then you're really going to love this recipe. These days, it isn't safe to eat most cookie dough batters, since they typically contain raw eggs. That's why we came up with this recipe for Cookie Dough Bites. They're safe to eat, so you can eat all the raw cookie dough you want!

What You'll Need

  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add flour, salt, and vanilla and mix until crumbly. Add milk; mix well.
  2. Stir in chocolate and peanut butter chips. Refrigerate leftovers.

Use a spoon and dig into cookie dough, or use a 1-inch ice cream scoop to form into balls. And feel free to try other flavors of chips or add some chopped walnuts.

Enough about the flour. We grew up eating cookie dough with raw eggs and never once got sick from it. We'll be trying out the recipe this weekend. Thanks for showcasing it.

Yup...the flour is also a raw ingredient and shouldn't be consumed unbaked. Baking flour yourself in a microwave or oven may be too inconsistent to kill bacteria. Check out the Baking Food Safety Guide with the internal baking temperatures for baked goods at http// Sharon

dosen't the flour have to be baked or microwaved to make sure any ecoli is destroyed

How long is this good for?

Hi there! This can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks.

What a fun and easy recipe! I do remember licking the spoon while baking when I was a child, but I don't remember eating large amounts of dough. This recipe is too good. You can't stop eating one bite after another. Thank you for giving me a safe alternative to cookie dough.

I'm guilty of eating raw cookie dough, even though I know it probably isn't always safe, so I'm glad to have this better-for-me option. This stuff is really decadent, so I can't eat more than one or two bites, but it definitely cures my craving. :D

OMG! Cookie dough that is safe to eat! So easy, so delicious and so dangerous to keep in the house (but I did anyway)! Wish I could give this more stars!
