What You'll Need

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 (16.5-ounce) package yellow cake mix, batter prepared according to package directions
  • 1 (16-ounce) can chocolate frosting

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 24 muffin cups with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer on low speed, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until creamy.
  3. Place 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high about 30 seconds, or until melted; stir until smooth. Beat melted chocolate into cream cheese mixture. With a spoon, stir in remaining chocolate chips; set aside.
