How To: Cook Bacon in the Oven

How To Cook Bacon in the Oven

Frying bacon isn't for everyone; for those of us who like a slightly cleaner approach to bacon, there's the option to make it in the oven. But how do you cook bacon in the oven? Well, thank goodness for Howard, because he's got the answers! Cooking bacon in the oven has never been easier. Now breakfast, and all your bacon recipes, just got simpler. In a few easy steps, you'll learn how to cook bacon perfectly: crispy and mouthwatering each time!

How To: Cook Bacon in the Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil: This will capture the drippings and make clean up a cinch!
    • You can place the bacon directly on the foil. But consider using a baking rack to make the bacon super crispy.
  3. Lay your bacon on the foil/rack: It's okay if the strips overlap or touch a little. They will shrink as they cook.
  4. Place your bacon into the oven: Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
    • This time will vary depending on how thick the bacon is and how crispy you'd like it to be!
    • After about 10 minutes, keep an eye on your bacon to make sure it doesn't burn.
  5. Place bacon on a plate lined with paper towels: After the bacon is done cooking, remove it from the oven; then remove the bacon from the foil/rack and place it on a paper towel. This will allow the excess grease to drain.
  6. Pat bacon with a second paper towel: Just to be sure all the excess grease has been absorbed. Enjoy!

Now that you know how to cook bacon in the oven, try out your new skills with recipes like these!
