Cherries Jubilee

Here's the perfect dessert for fancy holiday parties, small get-togethers, and lazy nights at home. Yup, it's that versatile. Our easy take on the traditional Cherries Jubilee whips up in a quick 5 minutes, and the simple fact that you'll never have to turn on the stove is just the cherry on top.

What You'll Need

  • 1 1/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 (4-serving size) package vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
  • 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed (1 8-ounce container equals 3-1/2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds, divided
  • 1 (20 ounce) can light cherry pie filling

What to Do

  1. In a medium bowl whisk milk and pudding mix until well combined.
  2. Gently stir in whipped topping and 1 tablespoon of almond slices.
  3. Alternately spoon pudding mixture and cherries into parfait glasses.
  4. Refrigerate until ready to serve and garnish with remaining almonds.

I like this recipe because you can change the flavors. I'm thinking of lemon pudding and lemon zest with fresh blueberries.

When a recipe calls for a container of whipped topping, can real whipped cream be substituted or is there a reason to use the fake stuff?

Hi there! Thanks for your great question. In this particular recipe, whipped cream can be substituted for whipped topping. However, the Test Kitchen does not recommend using whipped cream as a substitute for whipped topping equivalently because the whipped topping is used as a stabilizer in many recipes. Enjoy!

Yummy! Can't go wrong with those ingredients. Might have to try the chocolate pudding idea next

I'd call this more Cherries Jumbilee. I made it w/ cozy shack rice pudding, and the cherries sank to the bottom. It wasn't as pretty as a parfait, but the taste was great

wonder how chocolate pudding would be.

Sounds Yummy but it doesn't say how many servings it makes?

sounds soooo good will try it for our family get togather

years ago I had this with whiskey (flamed) with cherries then put warm on vannial ice cream. called the same thing.

sounds yummy, will definitely make it
