Whipped Cream

Sure, you can buy the frozen or canned whipped toppings, but for those times when you feel like having fresh, homemade whipped cream, go ahead and whip it yourself. It's so simple and satisfying.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 pint (1 cup) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

What to Do

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, with an electric beater on high speed, whip the cream for 1 minute. Add the sugar and continue whipping for 3 to 4 more minutes or until stiff peaks form.

    Makes 2 cups.

Notes

If you're using this to top a sweet dessert, it's probably fine as is. But if you prefer sweet whipped cream, use an additional tablespoon or two of sugar.
