COOK TIME
1 Hr 40 Min

Sink your teeth into our outrageously awesome Cherry Cola Country Pork Ribs and make sure to keep a bunch of napkins on hand. These saucy ribs will have you licking your smiling lips every time!

What You'll Need

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 5 pounds country-style pork ribs
  • 1 (12 ounce) can carbonated cherry cola or cola beverage
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar Maraschino cherries in their own juice

What to Do

  1. In a soup pot, heat oil over medium-high heat and brown ribs on all sides 8 to 10 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and drain off excess liquid.

  2. In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well.

  3. Pour cola mixture over ribs and cook 1-1/2 hours or until ribs are cooked through and tender, turning occasionally.

Notes

We like to use country-style ribs 'cause they're meatier, but spareribs will taste good, too.

These can be done in crock pot. Check after 4 hrs. How quickly they cook depends on thickness of meat and on how quickly your crock pot cooks. Put the cherry juice in with everything else as directed, but put the cherries in last hour or so. You can also add pitted fresh cherries in the last hour, instead of the jarred ones, but be sure to stir one in a while. ooooooohhhhhhhh sssssssoooooo GOOD!!!!!

Does anyone know whether or not these can be done in the crock pot? Thanks

I have made this recipe twice. Both times delicious. Best when a day old. Bone-in meat always has a bit more flavor. Love the cherries so I use plain cola and add extra cherries.

I like the bone-in. It serves as a handle by which to eat it...Yum!

country syle is boneless

country style can come both boneless and with bone...actually the bone-in kind are tastier.

Recipe doesn't specify if you are supposed to use bone-in or boneless ribs. Either way - you will end up with nearly 4 lbs of meat after cooking. This recipe will serve a lot more than just 4 people.

I am wanting to know how and the best way to grill a 5lb rack of pork spare ribs on my new Char broil propane gas grill!

Excellent and easy
