If you don't make ham because you always have too much leftover, then our Southern Glazed Ham is right up your alley. We use a small ham that still packs big flavor that'll make you a dinner-time hero any night of the week!

What You'll Need

  • 3- to 5-pound boneless oval ham
  • 1/2 cup peach preserves
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon stone ground mustard
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 3 tablespoons apple juice

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place ham in a 9- x 13-inch baking dish; bake 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over low heat, combine preserves, brown sugar, mustard, bourbon, and apple juice; heat until mixture is melted.
  3. Remove ham from oven and brush with half the glaze. Continue to cook ham 45 minutes, or until heated through. Slice ham and serve with remaining glaze.

thanks so much for all the great recipes! I will need them next week and all year truth be told! lol

What could I use in place of mustard?

Best recipe for ham ever!!!!!

I found a site that says this : "For Baking and Food When recipes call for bourbon or whiskey, a mixture of non-alcoholic vanilla extract and non-alcoholic almond extract can be used in place of bourbon in equal proportions. However, if the recipe only calls for a very small amount of bourbon, some chefs choose to simply omit the bourbon altogether, using slightly more of a liquid ingredient to replace the water content."

I would like the ansewer to this too.

fordjohnson, I hope someone at the test kitchen will reply to your question, as I too would like to know if you can use something else in place of the bourbon???

What can I us in place of the bourbon

If you're looking for a non-alcoholic substitute for the bourbon, you can just increase the amount of apple juice used. Enjoy!
